Before Anesthesia Instructions
- 🛑 Fasting:
- Do not eat or drink anything (including water and chewing gum) for 8 hours prior to your appointment.
🚬 Smoking:
- No smoking for at least 12 hours before surgery.
- Ideally, reduce or stop smoking as early as possible prior to your surgery day.
👥 Accompaniment:
- A responsible adult must accompany you to the office, stay during the procedure, and drive you home.
- You may not drive or operate machinery for 24 hours after anesthesia.
👕 Clothing & Accessories:
- Wear loose-fitting clothing with sleeves that can be rolled past the elbows.
- Wear low-heeled shoes.
- Remove contact lenses, jewelry, and dentures before surgery.
- Do not wear lipstick, excessive makeup, or nail polish.
🤒 Health Notifications:
- Notify the office if you have a cold, sore throat, stomach upset, or any illness.
💊 Medications:
- If you take routine oral medications, check with Drs. Maron, Digumarthi, or Kuhmichel prior to your surgery for instructions.
